> - If an account with this email exists, the user is added to the tenant directly and notified by email (204). - Otherwise an invitation email is sent with a link that is valid for 7 days (202). Inviting the same email again updates the role and resends the invitation.

## POST `/v1/tenants/{tenantId}/invites`

**Required permission:** `members:write`

### Parameters

### Responses

**202**: Invitation sent.

**204**: Existing user added directly.

**400**: `Owner` is not assignable.

**401**: Missing, invalid, revoked or expired API key.

**403**: The key lacks the required permission, or the tenant/resource is outside its reach.

**409**: The user is already a member here, or of a parent tenant (and inherits access).

**429**: Rate limit exceeded. Retry after the number of seconds in the Retry-After header.
